There is no spring. My fault I think.

I bought two because I thought I'd never have to buy another one. I do housework, cars and hobbies. I assume it's for hard work, which means something else. Little did I know they don't have a spring to reopen the jaws after cutting/splicing. You have to open them with your other hand (which in my experience usually holds something). Only an annoyance if you strip and cut a lot.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Minor issues

Well done but not the right tool for me due to two issues. see review.

Buying this product was a mistake in my case. I overlooked that it doesn't have a jaw opening spring like other wire strippers I have and most importantly these wire strippers are way too big for my hands. I don't have small hands being a 5ft 10 inch male but they just seem unnecessarily big to me. Jaws are sharp and generally appear to be well made. It's just not the right choice for me.

Pros
  • Stable results in testing
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

READ THIS FIRST>>>: Power & Hand Tools

Okay. They looked good and had great reviews. So I got a pair.<<<I've been an electrician for over 20 years. You now have dents in the cutter area. from cutting the wire. NO NAILS OR ANYTHING they weren't designed for. Is the steel hardened? The striptease section works. Tongs? again. Hardened steel? As another reviewer said, the handle also slips. I either got a bad pair or it wasn't the deal I was hoping for! I hope you make the best couple! drb

The tool is fine with one exception!

This tool does what it says on the tin and is a real value. What's missing is that with one-handed use without a jaw spring, it can be tricky to use. We know how important it is to use only one hand when working with electricity, even when the circuit is disconnected from the fuse box. It's still a big precaution. Without a spring to hold the jaws open until you close them to strip the wire, it can sometimes take two hands.

Fantastic product from a great company

Fantastic product and great customer service as well. I ordered them over the holidays and when I had a small problem with the pen I emailed them late at night and was shocked to receive a response within an hour. MulWark has gone above and beyond to ensure I am happy with their products and for that alone I can't wait to try their future products. Although I already own several sets of precision screwdrivers, I will be ordering a set because I am impressed with the tool quality and customer…

Not impressed. two complaints

I am in the process of setting up a home network and upgrading my ethernet cable to CAT6A. I bought these wire strippers to start this project. I've used this tool about two dozen times and have two complaints: 1. After only 1 or 2 uses, one of the handles keeps trying to slip off (poor glue application)2. When using the 12-14-16 Clear slots, I find that they are already matte. I only cut copper so I expect inferior steel. I went back to my old wire stripper. sharper than this after years of…

Good but not great

I bought this tool to replace my old tool from the 60's that was starting to show signs of wear. I've found this MulWark tool to work for many common uses, but it doesn't work well for most of my uses. In particular, I was annoyed by the lack of a spring that makes using this tool easier and faster (obviously in the photo, but I missed it). In addition, the tool was very "tight" despite the lubricant applied; Black or graphite or molybdenum. It took a little "work" on the action of the tool to…

These wire strippers work, but they're not very good.

These wire strippers work, but they're not very good. Pros: They work, they can strip wires, crimp, etc. Cons: - I should have noticed before ordering, but I didn't. They have NO spring to reopen them and damn it makes a huge difference. All my other wire strippers are spring loaded, I haven't had any before and wow that's awful. You have to open them manually after every single wire. Aside from not having a spring, they are not easy to open. They don't open smoothly like most pliers or wire…

Nothing for $10 is a professional tool.

Had to settle for 3 stars because they are what they are, nothing special. Yes they do the job and I believe this tool build will last for many years but I'm no pro. I took off a star because the listing title was "Professional Electrician" but I wasn't expecting the quality for a $10 professional match tool. Totally and obviously "Chinese" bait to buy the product (just a statement of fact). I needed a temporary replacement because I couldn't find my Matco stripper/crimper during a recent move…
