We (now) inherited a 14 year old Yorkie from my mother-in-law. Her name is Ginger, and at her age she has some illnesses that she seems to be gradually overcoming as she comes to her senses. a kind of dementia, and she relieves herself wherever and whenever the urge overcomes her. She has also lost many of her teeth and has very bad breath. Her name is Ginger, but she is also known as Gingervitis, Stinkerella, Deathbreath, and Badhair. The mouthwash our vet sold us didn't seem to help bad breath, so I looked for an alternative. I found Vetoquninol Dentahex oral hygiene rinse on Revain and found that the reviews were mostly positive and the price was reasonable. My wife immediately complained that it smelled strongly of mint and that the ginger was trying not to put it in her mouth. However, it has to be strong enough to be effective because we never notice their former halitosis when we pick them up. She may not like it, but it seems to be helping. Highly recommended.
