Review on DVB-T Digital Signal Finder Meter: Aerial Terrestrial TV Antenna Satellite Signal Strength Meter with Compass for Improved TV Reception Systems by David Pullen

misaligned my antenna

This unit was the cheapest and you get what you pay for. It is very sensitive to device shaking, causing the sound and display to jump. The compass on the device never pointed to magnetic north = it's always off by about 50 degrees. Long cables make reading signal strength very difficult. My antennas are in the attic so I connected the unit to the end of a 50 foot cable. Reception was still poor, so I connected the device directly to the antenna (you'll need a two-foot RG6 cable for this). Simplified reading of signal strength, however what I interpreted as the strongest signal was still about 15 degrees off best reception. I ended up making several trips to the attic, manually adjusting the antennas a few degrees at a time until I had the maximum number of channels.

Pros
  • 📡 Elegant appearance, light weight and small size. And comfortable to wear.
Cons
  • Exorbitant Piggy Bank
