Easy to use and efficient.

This device follows the philosophy of KISS, be simpler, be dumber. Does what it's supposed to do in a simple and straightforward format to find a signal in the best spot and position.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • doubtful

Didn't register an antenna signal.

I put this in my antenna cable to make it easier to aim the antenna. But the meter never fluctuated or measured any signal. Maybe it was because I measured the signal strength of the antenna and not the signal from the satellite dish. I sent it back because it didn't work for my application.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Negative present

Like measuring wind speed.

. with your finger in the air as a sensor. It probably works, but I can't prove it - yet. I got absolutely nothing readable on the two antennas which I removed and ordered a replacement. I'll check it out when it arrives and see (1) if the antenna is working (2) what the meter says about it

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • piggy bank price

Waste of money - accessories and consumables

The meter works but you don't know if you are tuning to a radio station, cell tower or 20 TV stations indoors or outdoors. 1. Its usefulness is extremely limited. I would recommend spending the extra money on a more sophisticated counter to see what broadcast stations are actually being received.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Not bad

Vox as stated. suitable for satellite finder

Easy to use and install. I don't think it's as sensitive as it could be, even the channels that were working fine didn't show much signal strength. This may be due to local topography and distance from stations. The closest to me is 35 miles away and there are several ridges, hills and, for the more distant stations, mountains along the way.

Pros
  • πŸ“‘ For connection to your antenna.
Cons
  • Long delivery time

misaligned my antenna

This unit was the cheapest and you get what you pay for. It is very sensitive to device shaking, causing the sound and display to jump. The compass on the device never pointed to magnetic north = it's always off by about 50 degrees. Long cables make reading signal strength very difficult. My antennas are in the attic so I connected the unit to the end of a 50 foot cable. Reception was still poor, so I connected the device directly to the antenna (you'll need a two-foot RG6 cable for this)…

Pros
  • πŸ“‘ Elegant appearance, light weight and small size. And comfortable to wear.
Cons
  • Exorbitant Piggy Bank

Quality is very poor, cheaply made

I don't say that often, but it was a piece of crap. The instructions say: connect the coaxial cable from the antenna to the device, add batteries, connect to a power source, turn the antenna until the meter is at full power, then turn the knob on the device, until the meter is halfway, and then point the antenna. brings the counter to full strength or back to ten. There's also a beep to let you know when you think you're getting a good signal. From the very first connection, according to…

Pros
  • πŸ“‘ Built-in IF signal level meter, digital feedback shows signal level intuitively.
Cons
  • old
