This was the only solid metal gate I could find for a 24 inch door. The locking mechanism on the gate that I received was completely broken - pressing the switch to open or close position doesn't move anything, so it's not possible to lock the gate. The screw that holds the guide stopper in place is threaded (so you can choose which way you want the gate to open), but the screw has been stripped and cannot be removed, preventing the stopper from installing can be. Basically, I now have gates that open with more than a light push. I bought this to block the door of a small closet so my lackluster dog couldn't mess up the litter box, but I wouldn't trust him anymore.
