Review on Water Temperature Message Notifications Sensors by Lance Foster

Works but needs improvement

As mentioned, the installation process can be a bit strange. As soon as my WiFi recognized the device and I entered the code, it just "disappeared" from the device list. After several rounds of restarting with no result, I wanted to contact the seller. First I decided to test it. I got a warning and then set up my account and settings - so far so good. The unit arrived with the lid partially in place and I inspected the inside. The assembly on them is not very well done. The sensor wires (along with the USB connector) are routed through a slot in the case, putting stress on the smaller logic board (see red arrow), which in turn stresses the connection to the larger logic board (see green arrow). ). The logic boards are attached to the case with double-sided foam tape, making them easy to remove over time with a USB cable or sensor wires. Poor design for a $40 device in my opinion. I modified my case so that the sensor pins don't stress the circuit boards and the USB cable doesn't move. The case isn't waterproof, so I'd recommend mounting it off the ground if possible, which is what I did on mine. There's also no mounting protrusion on the case like the "durable" version - stupid. I'm using this in a swamp and have tested it multiple times and still sent an alert. It works, but a 30-day guarantee isn't enough for a device that needs to be built better. At least 3 stars for consistently sending notifications.
