Review on πŸ’§ iSpring CU A4 White Water Filter by Corey Moulton

My installation does not have Murphy's Law

As a retired tech writer, I agree that the manual requires some work to help customers with their installation, it's worse for newbies and people who don't normally maintain their homes. . I've done most of my home renovations so with this experience I'm a little better prepared for projects unless a professional is needed. Aside from pesky broken or missing parts, preparation is key. So for beginners, read the manual a few days before installation, make sure you have everything (like wrenches, glasses, towels, silicone gasket, teflon tape, etc.) so you can go to the hardware store before than to start. I've read comments about oily sheen on the water. All I did was wipe off all the oil in the manifold where the filters fit. I also wiped most of the oil off the outside of the filter neck and left some oil on the o-ring to lubricate the filter installation. There were no problems with oily water. As for leaks. I measured 1/2 inch from the end of the hose pipe and made a mark around the entire pipe. Insert the hose into the fitting until it is seated and the 1/2" mark is clear of the fitting, push the hose in further while pulling out the ring, and then attach the blue retaining clip. There were no leaks from any of the ports. If you need to cut the tube, make sure you cut the end straight, otherwise it won't fit well. I can't answer why the filters don't fit. When I removed the filters I made a mark on the front facing filter. When I reinstalled the filter, I lined up the notch with the front and twisted until it clicked into place. I had no trouble finding replacement filters when I bought the system through Revain in July. They advertised replacement filters so I ordered them at the same time. I'm not trying to pretend I know all of this. Just trying to answer the problems people had and maybe it will help people who decide to buy and install this filtration system, especially newbies. I wish you all to be safe and healthy.

Pros
  • 4-STAGE ULTRAFILTRATION SYSTEM: Polypropylene sediment filter ((5 micron) removes larger particles such as rust, sand, dirt.) Ultrafiltration filter (contains a hollow fiber membrane with a pore size of only 0.01 micron). ) KDF and GAC filters (provides much better control of particularly problematic contaminants, including chloramine, hydrogen sulfide, heavy metals and other compounds). Fine filter with activated carbon (ensures the final polish).
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
