I bought this to make it easier to email photos of envelopes to customers. I wanted an external button for taking pictures. I set it to the lowest resolution and put the envelope on the mat under the camera. The software is very fast and does an excellent job of cropping and straightening the photo. Haven't noticed any errors yet. I don't use light because it takes good photos without light. As a bonus, I used the device to create a quick YouTube tutorial video. I had to lower the resolution or fast motion was blurry, but I still didn't need to shoot 4K video.
