Review on Litewood Grinding Parakeet Cockatiel Accessories by Jamie Brown

I bought it for my little parrot. We have always used sand bars and have never had a problem. I installed it and noticed a few weeks ago that my bird's foot was swollen and clearly in pain. I took him to the vet and he had two large lesions, one on the bottom of each leg, and they became infected. He had had his legs bandaged for almost a month now and was taking antibiotics to clear the infection. This perch might be great for teas or gray parrots, but its sand is too coarse and rough for the thin skin of a budgie's foot. I do not recommend.
