Most of the reviews on this product are false: the pen pen works effectively for about a week (I used mine with 2 cats) and then everything goes wrong. The shovel begins to stick to the bottom, the gray ring around the top begins to slip, and the result is a mess that takes more than "one touch" to clear. Of course, the dome prevents the gray cover from slipping, but that still doesn't solve the problem of the scoop always sticking out. In any case, why would anyone need to purchase an additional accessory in order for a product to work properly? To be honest I don't know how this passed product testing. They probably gave this car to a bunch of monkeys and asked them what they thought. There can be no other reason that explains how it was able to go from development to retail. After nearly 6 months of trying to get my $70 tablet to work, I finally threw the power adapter for this thing in the trash. It was the only way to resist the temptation to get it working again. Now I use a good old shovel, and I only kept the box because the dome cost me $30. Thanks Petmate! I know where NOT to get my next self-cleaning tray.
