Review on 🍡 Green Jarware Tea Infuser Lid - Regular Mouth Mason Jar Accessory by Elsa Lynch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The best possible option, but not ideal.

Suitable for any glass with a normal neck. Much less mess than pouring loose tea into a glass and then straining it into a glass. Two small drawbacks: The green plastic lid is a bit thicker than a normal stone glass lid, so my metal rings cannot be screwed onto it without a cross thread, which makes it cooler-friendly but not, shall we say, throws. Cooler and take it with you as it doesn't lock very securely; and this only works if the glass is full to the top, otherwise there won't be enough intersection between the water and the tea leaves for them to move much. In a small glass (a pint or less) this isn't a problem since you only need a few spoonfuls of tea leaves, but to make a liter or more I fill the teapot with 1/3 or more dry tea leaves and then they swell , if we need even more space, so I actually fill to the neck of the jar with water, not the best combo with the lid seal issue mentioned above. There are no catastrophes yet, but the potential is there. I was concerned that the holes would be too big and let sediment through, but so far the teas I've used (leaf, not powder) haven't produced any sediment at all. Of course, this also means that the holes are small enough that surface tension is an issue when the brewer is submerged in water, especially with a jug this full - I have to wait a few seconds for the water to flow before attempting the infusion completely let it's way into the glass so as not to flood the counter.
