Ideal for radiators and multifunction devices, great airflow, easy to use

PHANTEKS Eclipse 500A: Very nice case. It is designed for one or two radiators (front and top). Thanks to the almost open front and top, the airflow is enormous, and there is also an air intake for the PSU at the bottom. I've built an AMD system with a 6900 GPU (large) and a 360mm AIO cooler, there's plenty of room. I installed the cooler at the top, there is a lot of space. I installed 3x120 fans in the front, there's plenty of room there too. I have an 850w PSU, it can hold a LARGE 1000w PSU if needed. It's not a huge case though - it definitely feels bigger on the inside than it does on the outside. There are LOTS of cable management features, this is not only the most complex but also the cleanest build I've ever done. Cons: Fans are easier to hear when open. The answer is to reduce the RPM to a comfortable level that still provides adequate airflow - the temperature was not affected in any way. Pros: I forgot to route the cable for the last fan installed. The radiator was blocked where I wanted to run the cable. But I was able to unscrew and lift the top of the case so I had room to route the cable without removing anything, and then put the top back on. That made it a lot easier. This case is very flexible, it fits almost any standard motherboard/GPU/fan/heatsink etc. They advertise that it can hold two systems, but that's only with a special bracket that prevents the top heatsink. Also, I don't think a standard power supply has enough ports that they might not reach. Overall it looks great and works great. I would recommend it to anyone building a water cooled system. AIO/CLC are great, there is room for two heatsinks. Non-standard loops are also suitable, in some places there is enough space for a tank / pump. Other comments: The side window is almost transparent, I thought it was more tinted. Not so hot what's up. The side walls can be removed/inserted very easily. I received a non-RGB model, so it didn't have a controller. That wasn't necessary, I connected everything to my mobile device and everything works great and is perfectly coordinated. I usually build Lian Li and Cooler Master cases, which were my favorites, very high quality and full of features. It has a few things that are more thoughtful: heatsink mounts, cable routing, airflow. This is the most adaptable case I've ever worked on. It has plenty of drive mounts, none of which I've used - I've used 2 M2's on the phone. I would recommend this approach if you are creating a custom water circuit, but you can still add 4 to 6 2.5" to the back of the mobo tablet. Either way, you won't run into many limitations with that. Case. This would be great for those who frequently upgrade their rig or cooling.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.
