We bought a medium size for our 60 lb Dalmatian/Pit mix and it fits perfectly. She has a wide chest but is thin so the average size fits perfectly. Walking her was a nightmare (pull ups/lunges etc) so we decided to try a backpack and give her a job on the walks. That works great! I put water bottles and/or cans in my pockets and they tire quickly. She is more focused on the weight on her back and not as distracted by her surroundings. This is a great tool, especially if you don't have time to walk more than 30 minutes every day. After 15 minutes she huffed and puffed and then passed out on the couch.
