Review on Panasonic KX-TDA50G Hybrid IP PBX Control Unit: Enhanced Communication Management Solution by Liyanny Llerena

Absolute problem programming BUT reliable PBX

I work for a Panasonic partner and regularly install and program TDA50 PBXs in the field, which are analog PBXs . In my experience, it's tedious to install and program, and I don't particularly like this product from a business perspective. Once the TDA50 (and the free TVA50, sold separately) are set up, they will work without interruption or problems until the end of time. That's the only reason I gave it 3 stars because I've worked with TDA50s that have gone for literally a decade without maintenance or repair and it looks like they're really going to keep chugging along no matter what. Now for the general issues with this unit (and possibly Panasonic in general) to consider before you buy. Almost every function requires a reference to the PC programming manual or the installation manual. Fortunately, you can find these manuals for free on ManualsLib, because you're going to need them. Affiliate agreements do not cover the provision of Panasonic programming software to individuals. If someone gives it to you, they're breaking the contract and forfeiting their nice juicy discounts on Panasonic's entire line of products. Don't expect to find a copy online. If you do, it's probably fake or hacked by a virus. Due to the insufficient (by today's standards) power supply and processor, the number of analog or digital handsets (Panasonic only) that you can use with this system is limited. Adding more phones also usually requires the purchase of new cards for the device, which must exactly match the card type that exactly matches the type of phone being added, otherwise they will not work and will most likely require the purchase of a secondary power supply. . This small system becomes very expensive. Despite the high entry price, using this phone in a larger environment with more than 20 digital phones is not possible without purchasing additional TDA50 PBXs and connecting two or more devices together. It doesn't scale well at all and as such I should only recommend this device as a SMALL business solution and not as an all-in-one business solution. After all, it's difficult to program. Simple, uncomplicated features that customers currently see as NEEDED, not WANTED, such as the handset takes part in the conversation without interruption) are hidden deep in the TDA50 system. In the first case, it is a check box on a tab within a subprogram within a program folder within a program category. It's so unintuitive and proprietary it hurts my head. Also, the optional TVA50 must be purchased to access voicemail. This module has its own separate program, and it has its own problems, which I won't go into here. Needless to say, it needs to be fully configured before customers can do simple things like send voicemail to any handset or create a simple automated agent that presses "1 for support, 2 for sales." menu system. I'm still having a hard time getting things to work between the two systems, e.g. B. Certain numbers that bypass the auto attendant. There is no documentation to help you with this, you just need time to sit down and think about every possible solution while connecting the two systems together. All in all I never felt like you get what you pay for this device. It's almost like a trap Panasonic has set for dealers and customers alike - once you pick up a cheap TDA50, you're both faced with a huge list of upgrades and hassles just to get everything set up and up and running. It also seems dishonest that Panasonic is using decades-old technology but charging insanely high prices through the retailer, forcing customers to go to the retailer for simple things like adding new phones or changing the switchboard name. the goal is a "buy for life" PBX solution despite all the disadvantages and costs that come with it, look no further than this little devil.
