Over the last few years I've used 3-4 of these with lights to grow with no problems. The rubber bands are very strong and don't slip easily, but the wing nut used to adjust the angle loosens a bit over time, requiring re-tightening every few weeks. There are no heat issues when used with LED grow lights and they are barely powerful enough to hold heavy pink/blue grow lights. My only complaint is that I wish the cord was a foot or two longer.
