I always bring a sun hat when hiking or traveling, but had never been successful at finding one that wasn't dorky looking. This visor, with it's wide straw-look brim, is definitely more flattering than the usual travel hat you'd find at REI or a sporting goods store. It rolls into a tight tube and takes up little space in my daypack. The velcro fastener at the back allows it to be adjusted to fit any head size, and the opening at the top keeps my head cooler than traditional sun hats. I forgot to bring along the neck strap on my first outing with it on a breezy day, and it had a tendency to sail off of my head. I take a lot of photographs when traveling, and the wide brim seems to interfere with my angle of view a bit, so I may have to take it off when doing a lot of photography.
