Although the colors are saturated, they don't spread well. Not just to the next page, but also to the paper you use it on. They spread along the lines even if the lines are drawn with acrylic. After my first attempt at using them, I stayed away from outlines. It was unpredictable every time. Sometimes it bleeds to the line, other times it bleeds very little, so when they had to be touched up to fill in the space I still bled along the contours. Very frustrating. I actually gave it up and gave it to my 4 year old. When he finished using it, the ends of the brush tips were worn and bent.
