I've been using this in my leather work for about a week to power punches and irons and stamp and it works but it's not a perfect solution. Firstly, it's a little smaller than I expected, not a child's size but small and too light. Also, the nylon/plastic head of the hammer isn't very dense or strong, and after only two projects, the surfaces are chipping and I'm finding small pieces of white plastic from the hammer head on my workbench. Overall it's not bad for the price if you can't afford a good one like the ones Tandy sells for over $80. This would be a temporary fix, but I'll probably just buy cheaper rawhide instead and save up for better hammers if I do it again.
