Then buy and read this tutorial for an easy time!

These mirror motion mounts were easy to install and fit my lightbar perfectly. You can still fold your windshield with it. Here's a little guide on how to install them with minimal effort and tools. An arthritic chimpanzee can do this using my method. Please note that the front passenger mirror is partially dimmed when the doors are open. Hence the rating is four stars. Tools needed: 17mm deep socket. . Remove the doors from your favorite Wrangler2. Using an inexpensive heat gun, heat the head of the torx screw for five minutes. Turn on the radio and listen to two songs3. Use a Torx T-40 screwdriver or bit on the ratchet and try to loosen the Torx screw. Use very moderate force. If tension is felt, STOP! Put more heat on another song on the radio. Then, using minimal force, loosen the torx screw. Don't use your hand. Very hot. You will notice the blue locktite on the screw. Therefore, it is difficult to take them off without heat.4. Use the heat gun on another torx screw for a song on the radio. It warmed up partly due to the heating of the first torx screw. Use a T-40 bit to easily loosen a torx screw! Don't throw away the original Torx screws. Please note that TJs are no longer made and you can help someone else out with Torx screws or leave them as swatches for matching color. (Optional. If you don't need a spacer, skip to step 9.) Draw the bracket onto the rubber sheet to make a spacer. You must provide your own rubber sheet. I just went to Lowe's and bought a rubber sheet that is used for the trunk of a car to keep things in place. It was very cheap.6. Cut open the gasket and use a small knife to make an X-shaped cut in the gasket where the holes match.7. I also bought Lowe's stainless steel hex head screws. The original torx screws are not long enough. I just made them a little longer, about 1/8 inch longer.8. Line up the homemade gasket and bracket. Using a small knife, push the new stainless steel allen head screws through the gasket where you made the Phillips head. This will hold the seal in place.9. Using an Allen key the size of your chosen stainless steel screws, screw in the brackets. This gives it an old-fashioned look.10. Tighten screws. Then tighten again.11. Install your doors. Use a 17mm deep socket to locate the lock nut on the underside of the mirror. Loosen the 17mm jam nut at the bottom of the mirror in a deep recess. Hold onto the mother. 12. Remove the washer and spring in the well. Save the washers 13. Make a 10mm deep indentation on the threaded shank until it bottoms out.14. Hit the bottom of the deep well base with a small hand sledgehammer to push the mirror out from the top. Use a good heavy sledgehammer. 15. Take a very thin washer and place it on the bracket. This is an old washer that came off a mirror.17. Insert the dowels between the brackets and insert the mirror from above. The bottom of the mirror is centered because the stem is thicker where it is unthreaded.18. Take the metal washer that was on the bottom of the spring and place it upside down on the underside of the shaft. Hold it in place with a lock nut.19. Tighten the mirrors and adjust them to your liking. Never throw away genuine Jeep parts, throw them in the bin! Extra: I painted the bottom cup washer and bolt black. I also left the original mirror mounts on the doors. They make great handles to lift doors when I take them off. I can keep modifying to make the original mounts even better. With no doors, these mounts are great! When switched on, the passenger side mirror is partially blocked. I'm working to fix this. Improvement: Install the passenger side mirror to the top hole of the bracket with the nut in the middle of the bracket. This will raise your mirror about 2.5 centimeters (1 inch). This allows you to see half of the other side of the mirror from top to bottom. This is not a complete cure for the mirror locking when the door is reopened. I will keep experimenting. Installing the mirror in the top hole of the bracket rather than through both bracket holes also provides a much better view of the mirror when the doors are closed.
