I first used this product over Memorial Day weekend in Southwest Virginia, kayaking solo on day one. much cooler than my normal raincoat. It was put to the test the second night in the pouring rain when a friend invited me to a group camp with people spending over $700 (haha) for a night of camping. Around 10:30pm my radar went off and we had about 20 minutes before a rough walk back to camp after 30 minutes of continuous heavy rain that started to soak through the fabric. It became extremely rich and heavy, making him colder than the night should have been inside him. But once the sun came out, it dried very quickly. And this product protection withstood about half an inch of rain in less than an hour. Don't underestimate its 10 x 13 foot size, it's very large and you'll need an open area with a minimal amount of shrubs to set it up properly. you can't set them up so quickly in the middle of a thicket. This is not made for solo camping, best for couples
