I bought 2 sets of these countertop stools (4 total) to be part of our recent kitchen renovation. We've had them for 3 weeks now and I think they look great. The modern design and turquoise color make a great addition to the rest of the kitchen. They're comfortable enough for their style and feel sturdy enough. I also thought the price under $300 for 4 chairs was great value. Now for the bad. Assembly. Their assembly should take 5 minutes per chair. They consist of 2 parts. Legs/base and top seat. The 2 parts are attached with 4 threaded bolts (included). 2 out of 4 chairs were a breeze. It literally took longer to unbox than to assemble. The other 2 aren't that great. The underside of the seats that attach to the legs was so uneven that 2 of the 4 screws were not long enough to screw in. I figured no problem, I'll go to the hardware store in the morning and buy longer screws. same diameter. But I found that the threads are not standardized and therefore cannot be screwed in. On my second trip to the store I bought a large selection of bolts, washers, lock washers etc so I didn't have to go back. 3 times. All chairs are now assembled, each bracket is made slightly different as needed (see last photo). I've given this product 4 stars out of 5 at the moment because I have to watch at the end of the day. But if Montage isn't for you, stay away. Also, I'm concerned about longevity due to today's issues. I believe that even "budget" furniture should last at least a few years. Just take a look.
