I found that my vacuum had lost a lot of suction power and the original foam filter didn't fit, so only the felt filter really picked up dirt. When I went to the store to buy replacement filters, I found a HEPA filter that I forgot. When I blew it out with compressed air, it was filled with at least 4 ounces of fine dust. After installing replacement filters, it looked like a new vacuum cleaner. I'm hesitant to buy multiple filters at first, but if you have multiple sets of foam and felt filters, you can clean the set, set it aside to dry, insert a clean set, and start cleaning again. The quality seems just as good. if not better than the original.
