Perfect for 2000 Suburban 1500

Perfect for 2000 Suburban 1500 4WD with Auto-Ride Suspension. The easiest access is to jack up the front wheels and climb in behind the front wheels. Getting the old ones out was difficult as they fell apart when I pry them out with a large flat head screwdriver. But I finally pulled her out, diving the blade hard behind her and peering. The new ones went in fairly easily, tilted them so part of them got under the two support columns, and then used a screwdriver to squeeze the bumper material a bit to fit under the other two. For reference, it took me longer to raise the car and install the jacks than it did to change the bumpers. Update 2/16/2019: I can't believe the difference in ride and handling after replacing worn bumpers. As mine just got on in years and literally collapsed, the ride became more and more "floating" over time. My Suburban stalls at bus stops and also "falls" too much on corners. So much so that I researched new shocks. But now that the new bumpers are in place, the car doesn't float or roll or roll and I really feel a lot better again. I attribute all of this to the fact that the car is designed to sit on these bumpers and they are actually part of the suspension and not just a bumper preventing metal to metal contact during a droop. It looks like they are designed to work with shock absorbers and springs. I would have wanted to replace them for a long time, but every time I jacked the car up to fix it, the suspension would lengthen, so I never realized the car was supposed to ride on bumpers. In a way I'm glad my car shock absorbers are very expensive to replace. Otherwise, I would mistakenly replace my shock absorbers, only to find out later that much of my problem was bumper wear. If your bumpers are destroyed I recommend that you replace them before doing anything else. This can save you a lot of trouble and money!
