I tried this lens for astrophotography recommended by Lonely Spec. I think the lens is probably one of the best for this purpose. However, the lens I received had centering issues that caused one side of the image to be blurry. On my example, the blur was invisible at first glance, but if you look closely you'll definitely notice it. From what I've read you can get a really good copy of this lens but it may take 3 or 4 tries unless you're lucky enough to get a good copy on the first try. I also bought a 14mm f/2.8 from Rokinon and it was a great little lens for astrophotography and fun wide angle shots. It's also 50% cheaper than this lens because it's not as bright as F2.8 compared to F1.4. If you're willing to take a little risk, give this lens a try, but in my opinion it's a bit like an objective tape measure.
