AEE chip disables Nikon 3200 body.

I bought a used Revain 24mm F1.4 lens. I have four other Rockinon lenses with AE chips and they all work fine with my Nikon 3200s, but his lens turns the camera off completely when the AE enable is set to F22. I think the sensor is overloaded. As I bought it used I don't know if it was damaged or defective in production beforehand or if it's just not compatible with my Nikon, although other AE lenses from the same manufacturer work just fine. I see people are unhappy with this lens too so I…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No insurance

I've only been using this lens for about a week. This is the best astrophotography lens available for SLR cameras (as of 06/09/2016). It's not ideal. There are still some (very, very small) lumps in the corners, but much less than any other lens I've used, with the exception of the Tamron 15-30 VC. Achieving perfect focus is very tricky, but possible. Focus lock would be nice. Vignetting is standard and is consistently and manually corrected in LR at +47. Attached are two photos taken in Acadia

  • Handy part

The best lens in my bag!

This lens is awesome! I'm using it on a Canon T3i so I don't have a full 34mm field of view, but it's still great for night shots. I've also used it for some portraits and they come out perfect but being a manual lens I have to activate preview and digital zoom on the subject to get it in focus which can take a while and when the aperture is wide open, the least amount of movement can distract focus. Regardless, this is my new favorite lens in my kit. It's big compared to my 8mm and my 50mm…

I tried this lens for astrophotography recommended by Lonely Spec

I tried this lens for astrophotography recommended by Lonely Spec. I think the lens is probably one of the best for this purpose. However, the lens I received had centering issues that caused one side of the image to be blurry. On my example, the blur was invisible at first glance, but if you look closely you'll definitely notice it. From what I've read you can get a really good copy of this lens but it may take 3 or 4 tries unless you're lucky enough to get a good copy on the first try. I also

Lots of coma in constellations

I bought this lens to use in astrophotography. Despite the reviews I read on other forums, this lens did not live up to expectations. This is especially true of the coma, which manifests itself in the form of star wings. The coma is usually seen closer to the edge of the field of vision and can sometimes be reduced by closing the lens. But with this lens, even the stars in the center of the frame were comatose. It was a breach of the terms of the contract. A clear vignetting can also be seen in

Not for everyone but worth a try

I needed a lens solely for astrophotography and was recommended it. Did a little research and heard a lot of good things about this lens and the Rokinon in general. The main complaint I found was that focusing at infinity was inaccurate (see Figure 5). Someone recommended shooting during the day to find the so-called middle ground. Once you've found it and tagged it, the rest of the photos should look fine. The lens is quite large and heavy compared to my other lenses. But when taking pictures…
