Review on Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tire Performance by Brent Henderson

Worried about rolling resistance? elastic shells? to grab? Then this tire is not for you. The side walls are very strong and rigid. It feels like a car tire. However, it is the only tire (besides the Tannus tires) that deflects and protects the goat heads of the southwestern deserts. If you want flat protection I recommend this or Tannus. I personally ride the Tannus in the back and the Schwalbe MP in the front. Tannus offers 100% protection, while Schwalbe can theoretically still break. However, the Tannus is too stiff to be comfortable as a front tire. Schwalbe has clocked 2,500 miles on three different bikes front and rear with no breakdowns. I've tried Gatorskin and Specialized Nimbus but neither of them can handle spikes.
