Review on 🍞 West Bend 78823 Silver 2 Slice Toaster: Extra Wide Slots, Bagel Settings, Ultimate Toast Lift, Removable Crumb Tray by Cory Whitney

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A big complaint is that things get stuck at the bottom and are very difficult to remove.

This toaster looks great, has many features, toasts well etc. It toasts everything from thin slices of bread to halves of bagels with ease. to the side. There is no easy way to remove it. So it's just going to sit there and gradually burn and smoke. The tiny crumb tray is hopelessly inadequate! I thought it would help to remove the entire bottom of this toaster to clear the jam, but it's held in place with some custom screws that I don't have a driver for. It is impossible to disassemble this toaster without special tools. I'm very good with tools and very persistent, so I can break jams like this with a thin knife through small slits in the bottom (with the toaster unplugged, of course). ). I have an old Proctor Silex toaster that cost about $10 maybe 20 years ago. The entire bottom can be opened so that dirt can be easily removed. Why couldn't West Bend add this feature to their toaster? I'm always hesitant to give a one star review, but to be honest this toaster should get some kind of silly price for bad design. I do not recommend it to anyone.
