Amazing and versatile
After a year of shooting with this lens I can say it's my favorite lens of all time. With the perspective this lens offers, some amazing shots can be taken with ordinary subjects. It's really helpful! Let him teach you how to use it and it will outperform every other lens in your bag. It lives on my Canon body as it has become my main lens more than half the time. I've shot Canon, Pentax, Ricoh, Tamron, Sigma, Fuji, Olympus, Zeiss and more but this is the first Tokina lens I've used and now I'm a lifelong fan. Get one!
