Totally satisfied with the purchase. Our bedroom window faces west and where we live there is no light until ten o'clock at night. I wanted to black out our room and they are amazing in that regard. The only advice I can give to seekers of total darkness is to put a cornice on the ceiling. This allows the curtains to be closer to the window. It also maximizes their ability to block light by elevating the very tip of the curtains well above the top sill. We installed our curtain rod just above our window and against the wall. It still lets some light into the room. However, this is not enough to ensure the reinstallation of the eaves. I'll keep that in mind the next time I move. When I read that they are temperature and soundproof, I didn't put much stock in those benefits. I was very surprised at how much cooler the room stays and how quiet it is. We live in an apartment and on weekends the neighbors often gather in front of the entrance. Normal conversations can be unsettling, let alone drunk people's conversations. These conversations are much less noticeable after installation. Also some of our neighbors start their cars (diesel trucks) early in the morning and let them idle. This sound no longer wakes us up. The only thing I would wish for now would be an automatic curtain rod that opens the curtains at a certain time. I can't sleep when it's already light and the room got so dark after I slept. I can probably find it on Revain so I'm in the right place lol.
