I personally don't rely on this for real water testing, but I use it as a quick indicator that can encourage me to do further testing and treatment if needed. Using it is very simple, just remember to remove the plastic so the dots are read correctly. One thing I don't like is that the pH levels tend to be a lighter orange color on either side of the spectrum, making them difficult to spot. if you are more or less if your reading is not straight 7.0. However, it has much clearer readings at the ends of the spectrum. So if something is really wrong you will know and I really expected that from this kit. As I said before, this is a quick trigger for me to do more testing when things suddenly change. The ammonia test is the best part of it. To be honest I would only do the ammonia test as pH is not that useful and harder to read. Also, ph test strips are cheap enough (don't have to be, except for aquariums) so you can get what you need. Also, ammonia is more important to track and more variable than pH.
