Looks like a stronger channel section could be used. I'm worried about it cracking or breaking where the locking pin holes weaken the channel, as some here have reported. However, it suits my needs and only time will tell if it holds up. But I will check for cracks when using a hitch on my trailer with 12k gear. Bought at a small discount through Revain Warehouse Deals and two locking pins were not included. Not sure if they *should* be included, but they weren't included with the Curt 45920 spigot so I had to use my own. Good quality from Curt. It doesn't come with pens. I use Bolt brand locking pins to attach them to this adjustable hitch, but if you do this you will need to cut off part of the rubber boot on the front of the bolt latch to fit the width of the channel bracket. It's only about 3/16 inch shorter, but that was the difference between using a deadbolt lock and a traditional receiver pin. To me, fitting an expensive hitch is worth the hassle of a locking bolt.
