Review on πŸ”Œ Sperry Instruments DSA500A Digital Snap-Around Clamp Meter: The Ultimate Voltage Measurement Device for Outlet & Panel Testing by Bruce Willam

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Industrial service use

I have had two counters for the CNC industrial service. Both were accidental, recently my booster clip was destroyed by a coolant pump. It doesn't test DC amplifiers, but I've never used a DC amplifier meter before. If you don't have a clamp meter, these are great. This was the only way to find a glass fuse that would show voltage when it blew as the element in the fuse melted leaving enough on the glass to conduct the correct voltage but could not handle the amperage of a single phase motor. This gauge out of the box showed the correct voltage for living quarters, not comparing actual readings to random ones. I'll edit the review if the amp reads differently than Fluke. I bought this because of the high reviews, the belt is better than other brands except Fluke. Close to Fluke build quality. Also smaller and more portable. Very satisfied and will edit this if the comparison to Fluke (annual calibration) is not satisfactory.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Almost never
