I couldn't get this drive to work. Of course, my computer recognized the device, but otherwise the drive just vibrated and made grunting noises when trying to insert a CD or DVD. I couldn't get it to recognize any drive I tried, I tried ten different drives just to be sure. I've also followed the troubleshooting steps (disconnect/reconnect USB, restart computer, etc.) to no avail. One more thing: it needs one USB port for data and one for power. USB ports are not always plentiful. I think that's why the USB hub is listed as "commonly bought together" with this drive. But if that's the case, the buyer might be better off paying a little more for a drive that can power and transfer data over the same USB cable. Buyer, but I have to assume that's crap for cheap electronics.
