Review on Mishimoto MMHOSE-E46-01IBL Silicone Intake Boot Compatible With BMW E46 3-Series 2001-2006 Blue by Charles Quinones
Will not fit exhaust system
Not only is this boot not suitable it should be designed on a car to allow smoother airflow into the intake manifold - and it fails at that single job. Being about an inch longer, it took me about an hour to wrestle the boot twice, even putting it on with a special tool. Worse, the trunk will be dented so badly during installation that you will most likely get WORSE airflow into the engine. Here it makes sense to stick with an original BMW part.
