Review on πŸŽ’ Lug Botanical Convertible Backpack 7790 for Women: Handbags & Wallets by Heather Morales

Good idea/concept, but room for improvement

I was very happy about this bag, but was ultimately disappointed. Love that it's not black on the inside so things are easier to find (but didn't like the pattern I got), love that it can be clipped to luggage, decent organization, keep an eye out my 14 inch laptop. Cons: Bags need more thought out. The inner compartment for the laptop is on the outside of the bag. Common sense dictates that heavier items should be closer to the body to make them easier and more comfortable to carry. They have a cooler compartment outside that touches your body. Why? Your body heat will warm whatever you're trying to keep cool! The backpack straps were very uncomfortable. The Canter bag had silicone/adhesive materials to help hold the straps in place. Also, a chest strap would have been nice for extra comfort. Anyway, the straps really took a toll on my shoulder muscles and this is a man who has traveled the world with a backpack and ridden 20,000 with 35-40lbs on my back! Another downside, when worn over the shoulder, the straps are crooked so the strap goes over the zippered opening and it's difficult to unzip the bag to get to the inside. Maybe it's a pro against pickpockets, but it makes it hard for you to get things out of your pocket. a laptop and two water bottles - I also usually had things to keep my little one entertained and the extra water bottle had to mimic a milk bottle) and it just wasn't practical so I returned it. I think I will keep Sherpani Soleil. It's not perfect either - the backpack straps are too wide and need a sternum strap, and I like the Lug front and back pockets better, but I like the Soleil internal pockets better and it's more comfortable both in a backpack and over the shoulder. . Also, both bags are heavy, but Lug is heavier than Sherpani and Sherpani also has RFID and anti-theft protection on all zippered pockets.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
