These garbage bags will not leak with normal use. To date I have used about 100 bags without a single leak. The trash can does not smell and does not need to be cleaned with bleach. I've tried different brands of bin bags and they all leak occasionally, even if I try not to move the rubbish around so I don't have to take the bin bag out the next day! Garbage bags are 1.1 mil thick; Major brand garbage bags are 0.9 to 1.05 mil thick. When I first bought Neat-Packs I didn't expect that a small difference in thickness would make a difference, but a nearly 9 month leak free history speaks for itself.
