The plastic lid is held on the body with small magnets. That's good, but it's really hard to separate them. I think I would have preferred a removable battery, but the lithium battery didn't even need to be charged. It seems like it could take quite a while. The charging port feels noticeably exposed, and as such you'll probably want to keep it out of the water. All of this is a bizarre mix of strength and fragility. The screen is a super bright and clear black-on-yellow LCD that is very easy to read. It refreshes the screen VERY quickly, so you have no problem adding ingredients slowly until you reach the weight. That's pretty accurate, of course - literally breathing on it will alter your numbers. The fit seems to be good. At least that's enough for what I wanted.
