First, this functionality is overkill for 95% of home users. Secondly, its setup is not very simple. I have been using tp-link 4300 on openwrt for the last 10 years and got used to consoles, configs and was ready for difficulties. But everything turned out to be much easier. All RouterOS settings are unified and logical. Wifi is faster and more stable. Certificate-based VPN (openvpn, ipsec) is much easier to set up than in openwrt. Huge 2022-speaking community. As long as everyone is happy.
