This is a small solar powered, wall charge portable radio with battery backup. It also has a powerful flashlight. There is a bar with a compass that is connected separately from the radio. The lithium battery type is listed in the description on the product page, but nowhere on the product itself or in the manual. It's relatively easy to use to start looking for bands to receive, but it doesn't offer a scan function, so you'll have to hold down the button to switch to the next. Due to the simple construction and small size, I have to say that it will be relatively reliable to use.
