I was skeptical given that there aren't many DSI display options outside of the official 7-inch screen. If it were easy to create a DSI display for the RPi, wouldn't there be more of them? It's not a huge market for them, so the possibilities aren't endless. I'm happy to report that this display is the real deal. Connected to an RPi 4 with a fresh install of Raspbian, it just worked right out of the box. The picture is clear, the viewing angles are acceptable (not great, just acceptable) and the build looks good. on the back of the display, to save space you'll need to detach the display from the front of the board to access the screws. This involves cutting the double-sided foam tape and carefully unplugging the ribbon cables, which isn't impossible, but some People might worry about this type of surgery. So don't like that the DSI cable isn't upside down as it's a bit harder to find a longer cable with the right pinout if you need something longer than what they include. Those minor complaints aside, I couldn't be happier with this screen.
