Review on Ferrule Crimping Tool Kit with Self-adjustable Ratchet - πŸ”§ Preciva AWG23-7 Crimper Plier Set and 1200PCS Wire Terminals & Connectors by John Fenton

MY GOD! Where has this tool been all my life?

Edit 11/07/2020: I've been using this set at work for a couple of weeks. I'm still impressed by how easy the tips are to attach and how well they stick to the wire. Since then I've bought a few different sized twin tips (from other suppliers) and a few larger tips as 25 of the 8 AWG (10mm2 what they say is 7 AWG?) didn't last very long. I work for a solar, HVAC and electrical contractor and use this kit almost every day. The only problem I had, and it's not this setup's fault, is that the 10 AWG tabs wouldn't stay in the wago/lever nuts at all. That's really good, because Wago is listed for stranded and fine-stranded conductors without ferrules anyway. Using ferrules on stranded wire before connecting to a switch or ground/neutral bar seems to give an excellent bonding surface. I donated some 12 and 14 AWG tips to test pullout performance, but didn't spend a dollar on a calibrated voltmeter. I might update this review if I ever do. I tried to upload a video but AMZN seems to have a problem with my file. Maybe I'll try to get a new video later this week. First Review: This tool is great! It worked great right out of the box and I didn't have to adjust the crimp pressure. I've used it to redo some 20 AWG and 10 AWG stranded wire connections around my house. He smoothly transitioned from one size to another without much fuss. I love the variety of tips included, but I see that if I'm going to use them for everything (which I will be doing) I'll have to stock up. This will definitely help differentiate my work from those who don't use nibs in their work. Buy it. It's worth it.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
