Perfect NVR in CCTV DVR

My Settings: Router: Arris TG1682 Dual BandConnection: WiredStorage: 2TB Western Digital 3.5" 7200rpm SATA HDD Monitor: LG TV What I like about it: - Easy setup. For storage, remove the case screws, unplug that Enclosure, connect a SATA drive and reassemble the enclosure. To network, simply connect the NVR to your router via Ethernet. Once the unit boots up, it will search for a compatible camera on the network and allow you to connect it to your console. After adding the cameras, you can set the recording schedule and you're done. - It's feature rich. There are many settings that can be done on the device, so as not to write a novel, I'll cover the basics handle: You can view live broadcast and recorded video from up to 4 cameras at the same time set it up like motion detection, video loss or camera masking, which will send you an email to record an event when an event is triggered. You can record any combination of the following: continuous, motion and alarm (if the cameras on your network support motion/alarm), scheduled, Sun-Sat. You set up maintenance schedules (automatic reboots, deleting old files, etc.) to run at recurring intervals. It has a built in USB port for a mouse (didn't try to connect a keyboard). You can choose to view the NVR's dashboard through the web console (by typing the IP address in the browser) or by connecting a mouse and an HDMI or VGA monitor to the NVR. Since my router is next to my TV in my living room, I decided to leave the NVR there so I can watch it on the big screen. It supports cameras from other manufacturers, INCLUDING ONVIF compatible WIFI cameras. I have 4 WiFi cameras on my network, NONE of which are connected via Ethernet. The DVR found everything, allowed me to add everything and record everything with no problems. It has 1 HDMI port and 1 VGA port. HDMI worked well for me, allowing me to connect my LG TV to the unit. With CCTV cameras getting cheaper every day, the only downside of this NVR is that it only supports up to 4 cameras. I want to buy an 8 channel NVR so I can add more cameras in the future (if needed). But for now this device satisfies my needs.

Pros
  • Plug and play setup, easy to setup, access and manage. Scan the QR code on the NVR from the Amcrest View app for instant access to live view and playback. Connects and controls all POE IP cameras on your network directly via their Ethernet cables for the ultimate ease and convenience of a home security system.
Cons
  • Operating Speed
