Review on πŸ”Œ AmazonBasics Fiber Optic Audio Cable - Toslink Compatibility by Rob Madden

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product! I use it to stream TV audio to my old stereo receiver.

For years I've seen connectors on the back of my electronics labeled "optical" but had no idea what that was. I figured it must be some weird video connection needed for devices I didn't have and never will have. So I've always used old RCA audio cables. But I recently bought a TV that didn't have RCA audio jacks and I thought, 'how can that be? How do I connect a TV to my audio receiver? Well it's as simple as buying this cheap thin little cable and plugging it from my TV into my receiver. The sound is amazing! And it got rid of two bulky RCA audio cables. It takes some effort to connect - more than you might think - but there's a nice click when it's connected. And you'll know it's good and tight there and you can't push it. So now I know what this type of cable is used for and it has allowed me to continue using my 15-20 year old receiver.
