I wanted a doorbell camera that didn't require a monthly subscription and that would fit the bill. The camera has a wide field of view and comes with two adapters that allow the camera to be tilted for a better view. This camera is not battery operated so you will need to remove your existing doorbell and connect the Lorex to your existing wiring. Video recording is activated by motion. I have found that there is sometimes a backlog and this has led to people not being recorded in several cases. All of these were parcel deliveries where the courier was (obviously) fast on the move. Anyone attempting to force the door open will definitely be caught. The video is saved on the SD card. SD card and reset button on the back of the device. Anyone attempting to reset the device or delete the video must remove the doorbell from the home to gain access.
