Review on 🚿 Danco 17469B Hot/Cold Stem: Upgrade your Sterling Bath Clamshell Faucet by James Womble

Leaking rough faucet parts

I have had good experiences with Danco products in the past but this faucet stem must have failed quality control. The part that the elastomeric seal rests on is not smooth enough. In other words, the surface is too rough. This was caused by the plastic injection mold for this part being defective. All products made with this matrix suffer from the same problem of leaking faucets. I bought this one from Revain and three others from Home Depot with the same problem. I ended up using the old parts I was planning to replace to stop the leak. I have ordered parts from BrassCraft (St309) for a lot of money, from Revain of course. I'll see if BrassCraft gets it right. 3-14-17 - BrassCraft is the best way for this part. The sealing surface is smooth enough to seal.

Pros
  • Fits Sterling 031, 032 and 033 series bath/shower faucets
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
