"Exact replacement " does not fit,

Liked: new O-ring and plastic retaining ring included. The new gas cap did not "close" tightly. Touch the feathers and it crumbles. I took apart the new and old caps, swapped out the o-ring and retaining ring, and "updated" my old cap, which still snapped in properly.
