Easy and secure in the caps

I loved how easy the key went into the secure gas cap. In fact, I liked it so much I ordered another one for my old Ford, but after ordering... I found it wouldn't fit in a Ford gas tank. I feel sick. But I liked the easy button lock and security of the gas cap for my Tundra. Thank you for the affordable and fast service 😊

Reasons why the Check Engine light comes on

I bought this for my 2019 Tacoma. It fits, but that's why the Check Engine light comes on. Since I've used it, I can't return it. It's a good gas cap and closes well, but it causes the Check Engine light to come on. I will order a Stant 10504 cover to see if it works without the check engine light coming on. I've read that others say it works on a 2019 Tacoma with no issues.

Not for 2018 Tundra

This cover will not fit 2015 or 2018 Toyota Tundra as the 'Check Eng' light will illuminate when a leak is detected. Bought for 2015 and 2018 Tundra and both reset the code on the same day. The 2018 cap was tightened and it took a few extra days (maybe a week) and back through the code. The lock itself works great. Much better than the ones I've had in the past. Love the fact that you can lock and unlock the cap by turning the key to lock it and the cap just twists once locked. Then you open it

  • Great for a small house

  • Almost OK

Get error codes with this cover.

Bought for my 2016 Tacoma to replace the factory gas cap. This cover fits the truck and provides a secure closure. The problem, however, is that in the two weeks I've had the cap, I got four Check Engine DTCs that I had to reset. Each code indicates that the gas cap is not installed properly. Every time I get a code, I check to make sure the lid is tight, which it always is. During this time I only filled up the car once. I had a different brand gas cap on my previous Tacoma for 10 years and…

didn't work with Corolla 2016 ($185 wasted)

I had the check engine light on and suspected the gas cap was faulty. I used the compatibility checker and saw that this would work with my 2016 Toyota Corolla. I received it, put it on my car and heard a click as it securely sealed my gas tank. My check engine light was still on. I took my car They ran diagnostics on the engine. Guess what? The problem was the gas cap of this damn product. Engine replacement, labor, and diagnostics cost about $170. In addition to the $15 I spent on this…

It's terrible when you block it.

For 2014 Toyota Tundra. I don't write many reviews but I have to for this one. This lid does not close when closed. Whatever you do, tighten the lid until it clicks 3 or 50 times, once you turn the key to lock the lid it will loosen and cause evaporation. Check engine light leak. If you fiddle with it a few times you might get lucky and it will be tight, but that's only until the next fill. I'm an auto technician and I know what I'm doing, I've been trying this cap for 3 months and it won't…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

The cover works fine but it turns off the horn and turns on the check engine light. Unfortunately, the Toyota dealer told me this would happen all the time and would set off emissions codes that would cause those bulbs to go out. Toyota has stated that there is no fuel cap that works that will not fit the all-new Toyota 4 Runner. The lid itself worked as advertised. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because the check engine lights went out and I had to go to the dealer to reset it. I tried…

This cap is not universal as they say - you have been warned!

Despite the general complaint, I still took a chance and lost. The dreaded check engine light came on three days after installation. Here's the problem: You can physically see that the cap isn't fully screwed in before the clicker engages, and therefore isn't making contact with the o-ring in the cap. I have a Nissan Frontier and the thread is different although similar. This is not a universal item as claimed. I could send it back but I think it has too many threads as my original only has one

gas thief best in caps

I bought this lockable gas cap because I live in an area where things usually disappear overnight. One night I woke up at 2am because I heard someone outside the window. And don't you know someone sucked gas out of my tank no more than 12 feet from me? Not only did they take most of the gas, they ripped the cap off my tank. It's bloody expensive to have my gas go to waste so I grabbed it when I saw it was only $6. I've had this cap on my car for 3 weeks now and the only time the fuel needle…

This is a fuel cap that fits well, but has a problem

My gas flow is very good, the key lock is pretty good. After you close the lid, you can twist it and it won't open. Now the problem. This cap of the petrol tank does not close properly and petrol vapors can escape from the petrol tank. This caused two warning lights to come on on my dash. The first light was the engine warning light. The second light was that I had the traction control light on. I have an auto analyzer called "FIXD", it was able to diagnose the problem and recommend a solution.
