fit . but doesn't work quite right

Fits the tank well and looks good. but when you try to remove the cap. The small wire doesn't wrap around the cover like the OEM

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Doesn't seal: Spare parts

The seal from the original petrol tank somehow fell off. This caused an error code on my car. I bought this to take care of the error code but it doesn't seal so the error code is stored.

Pros
  • Neat workmanship
Cons
  • Poor instructions

A good buy so far.

I needed a new fuel cap for my car as I kept getting a leak type error code in my car's OBD2 system. So far with the new cover and in the last few weeks since purchase the error has not occurred.

Pros
  • Wow
Cons
  • Only available in black

Doesn't quite fit 2nd Gen Tacoma

Barely fits my 2005 prerunner Tacoma 4dr, but only after a few tries to line up the lugs and pinch tight while turning. Not the best option. I didn't realize it until my CEL caught fire. Purchase another replacement.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Non-OEM, will leak and cause Check Engine Light.

This is a poor quality aftermarket product that will emit petrol fumes which will cause the check engine light to go out after approximately 2 months of use. Do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks more on a matching genuine Toyota part.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Reliable

Worked great on my 2005 GX470

Solved my Christmas tree signal lights. After replacing the gas cap, the bulbs went out after about 100 km of mileage. I've had this problem with warning lights before, so I'm not surprised that a new gas cap fixed it. I seem to have to change the lid every 5-7 years.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Mostly fine but...

2009 Scion TC - Caps

My check engine light went out a few days after installation. The small plastic strap is inserted without tools, the old one just has to be pulled out. It feels like an OEM. My last gas cap lasted five years so if that one fails prematurely in the next few months I'll be back to revise my review.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Expensive

Works well well for Caps

A check engine light came on in my parent's car. I looked at the code and saw many people saying that the problem was often a gas cap that wasn't tight enough or wasn't sealing properly. I decided to try this as a solution and so far it seems to have worked. The check engine light went out and wouldn't come on again.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Almost never

Bad copy of OEM part.

Poor copy of the original part. I am an ASE certified technician. When my 4Runner had code P0456, I not only assumed it was the gas cap, I ordered a different one, I checked the EVAP system with vacuum and smoke, and physically checked every inch of the hose and both. Solenoids in the system before you just drop the gas cap on it. With this gas cap on the 4Runner, I got codes P0441 and P0455 instead. Checking the gas cap with a gas cap tester shows it passes the pressure test, but when a vacuum

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive
