Fits 1999 Toyota Camry

First I used the combo box to find my car then I bought and serviced it. Arrived very quickly. The quality is good, not as heavy and hard as the original but does what it's supposed to. The only minor gripe is that the knob you turn is small, it just fits in my fingers. I'm used to 2 inch cleats which you can easily pick up and rotate but as I said at least it works.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Faulty

Toyota parts are more suitable for Toyota vehicles.

Just so you all know this cap is a bit pricey but it fits and my wife can take it off. Many other generic typecaps didn't quite fit, but they did. The cover did not solve the emission light problem. But I took this chance. My car has other problems and needs more repairs. Don't worry this cap won't work on Corolla 02, it does.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Something different

Fits great, works as expected

Thank goodness this gas cap fits my car (1995 Toyota Camry LE). This is one thing people don't think of replacing until it fails. I bought this car used (I'm the 3rd owner) and two women before me have kept excellent maintenance records on the car since it was originally purchased. But the only thing that hasn't been replaced is the gas cap. 2018. After filling up I smelled of petrol, but nothing more. And they sent me the right part first, doubly awesome! Thanks very much!

The original cap fixed the Check Engine gauge

It was well worth the money and saved my pocket. I checked engine code P0466 for my Camry. Did a little research online and found that it is EVP (which is expensive) and it can be fixed if the cap is replaced with a real one. I just want to try before I go to a mechanic to fix it. Replaced OEM cover. This helped me and solved the problem. Never fill the gas tank neck to neck. The vehicle must be driven at least 150 miles for the check engine light to turn off after replacing the cover.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • boring packaging

The original is what you need

If you ever need it you've got an old car like mine. I would vote for the "real" part. That worked great in my situation: My engine light came on after refueling. Not always, but often enough. It usually disappears after a while or after refuelling. This is proof that my old gas cap was not closing properly all along. I bought these, replaced my old one, and a few hours later my engine light went out and hasn't been on since. Definitely solved my problem.

Pros
  • Cool product

  • Almost never

DTCs P0400, P0441 and P0446 have been cleared and will not return.

I've been trying to fix the fault codes mentioned in the title for a while (Toyota Avalon 2001), new canister, new VSV purge valve, new vent valve (closed VSV canister), new hoses, smoke test passed etc. The VSV canister and vent tested poorly, but the codes kept coming back even after replacing those parts. It turned out that while these components contributed to system malfunctions, the aftermarket gas cap prevented the system from working properly. Problem solved with this new header. OBTW…

Looks exactly like the original (Original Toyota) in my .

Looks the same as the original (Original Toyota) in my 2001 Toyota Camry 2.2L. I bought this new genuine Toyota gas cap because my car has a P0401 check engine light and the solution I found (on the internet) to fix the P0401 trouble code is: 1 - The battery may be low . ; 2 - The fuel cap can cause gas leaks; 3 - Clean or replace the EGR vacuum modulator; 4 - Clean the EGR valve; 5 - Replace the exhaust gas recirculation (VSV) vacuum switch valve. Therefore, I will gradually try everything…

SIMPLE SOLUTION to the current problem.

I can't believe something so simple could fix the Check Engine Soon warning in my 2001 Toyota Camry. I've been obsessing over the idiotic "Check Engine Soon" lightbulb for the past 7 years or so. My mechanic told me I probably need a new gas cap so he put it on. There was one more problem. The mechanic then told me that I screwed the gas cap on incorrectly after filling up. I am a woman; what do I know? I told him that I've had this car since 2003 and managed to screw the gas tank cap "right"…

  • Replacement Parts
Cons

Always buy genuine parts

Fits as expected. Genuine Toyota part. Toyota sealed. Don't listen to people who say they smelled like gas or they got spare parts. Totally insane reviews. Obviously they just wanted a refund and sent their aftermarket crap back to Amazon I bet. I almost hesitated because of this, but figured if this is the case I'll be refunded. The reason I bought this was because I knocked a few days ago after taking the gas cap off my 98 4runner. It flew off the fuel filler cap and landed and I broke off a…
