ALWAYS USE THE ORIGINAL TOYOTA

I had a lockable gas cap with key. My desert Toyota mechanic said it was better to use a real Toyota gas cap for a tighter fit. So I ordered this one and it fits my 2008 FJ perfectly! I had issues with the fit not being tight enough and the service light coming on. Don't fiddle with your keys at the Costco gas station! ALWAYS USE AN ORIGINAL TOYOTA!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some little things

cheap and turned off the vsc/trac lights on my dash

perfect fit for my 08 Highlander - don't know why but Toyota wired the gas cap leak to the Highlander's traction control system. Most manufacturers just hook it up to the EVAP system and have it output an engine check code. I wouldn't have believed something so stupid until I put on a new cap and a month later the dashboard lights went out! Strange!

Perfect fit for Scion Xa

I ordered this to fix an accidental engine burn on my 2006 Scion Xa and it fits just like the factory model! At 104,000 miles and 10 years the time has come. The old one was just loose enough that the fumes weren't venting properly. It is highly recommended that you replace them if you see your engine light appearing randomly, running erratically and/or after replacing coils. I received the correct Toyota factory part as described. With a quick tug, the old cable snaps out and the new one fits…

Buy this genuine Toyota replacement cover first!

This cover solved my problem! DID NOT RECEIVE the cheap one I tried first! I would advise you to buy this cover first. After filling the gas tank, the maintenance light came on. I bought a cheap cap. Two more lights soon came on. I watched some YouTube videos and bought this genuine Toyota baseball cap. Since then all the lights have gone out. The YouTube guy was able to restart his computer, but I couldn't. He said to restart after a while if the problem is in the lid. A few days have passed…

WILL NOT FIT 2005 Toyota Matrix XR

I'm sure it's a great gas cap but not for my 2005 Toyota Matrix XR. The ad says this gas cap fits my car. Other people have asked if it fits a 2005 Toyota Matrix, and people have answered "Yes, it does." Based on this information I bought this gas cap. As soon as it arrived I went to install it and immediately noticed that it was a lot less bulky than my old gas cap. Then I realized that the topics are completely different! This gas cap has real threads while mine doesn't, and instead has…

Do not trust the compatibility tool for this product.

I have this gas cap because the check engine light code lists the gas cap as a possible cause. This item did not fit my car. On the product page it was possible to check whether the year, make and model of your car are compatible with the fuel cap. I did this and was told it would fit my 2005 Toyota Corolla S. That wasn't true and I spent $90 to have my car fully checked for the check engine light. If so, my check engine light would go out. I know this because after completing all diagnostic…

Perfect for 2010 FJ Cruiser

These items ALWAYS GO to the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Yes, there are cheaper replacement parts that may or may not work, but save yourself the hassle of troubleshooting aftermarket parts. CELs (Check Engine Indicators) are often associated with worn factory caps/seals or the installation of non-genuine parts that are not doing their job properly. I had 110,000 miles on the factory cap and it still worked fine. It was replaced as a 100,000 mile preventive part by my own company. 8…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Secret

The fuel cap came in a brown bubble wrap envelope, I returned it in a brown bubble wrap envelope. You have received a returned item/gas cap. I can't keep track of the envelopes and bubble wrap of every purchase I make from Revain. It is unprofessional for Toyota to ask the customer for the SAME bubble wrap. And the same envelope. In the middle of Covid-19. I am 66 years old, an elderly person, and I was unable to read the seal on the WRONG ENVELOPE OR BLADDER PACK that was sent from Toyota to…

Solution to my intermittent check engine light.

Application: 2010 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport DCSBI would first like to point out that while this is an OEM product and comes in official Toyota parts packaging, there are some slight differences in the text on the cover. I've attached some pictures (old OE cap on the right and new on the left) so you can see the differences in the lyrics. Not a big deal - doesn't detract from functionality, but I'm a fan of details so it's worth mentioning. About my problem: About a year ago I noticed that my gas…
